Following this franchise is not a hobby. It’s a scheduling conflict, a mood disorder, and an inherited condition all at once. Sunday doesn’t start at 1:00 — it starts Tuesday, when the injury report drops, and it doesn’t end until somebody has been declared a bust, a fraud, or a Hall of Famer, sometimes all three in the same quarter.

Most Eagles coverage picks a lane: relentlessly positive homer content, or lazy national takes from people who couldn’t name three offensive linemen. We don’t do either. BleedGreenSports is written from inside the fanbase — which means the analysis is real, the standards are unreasonable, and the criticism is loud. We’re not neutral. We’re not pretending to be. We just refuse to be stupid about it.

We built this site around football because football is the religion here. But on July 24, 2026, LeBron James signed with the Philadelphia 76ers, and pretending that didn’t happen would be journalistic malpractice.

So BleedGreenSports now covers the Sixers too — same voice, same standards, same refusal to get excited before something is actually won. Because we’ve seen this movie. We’ve trusted processes. We’ve watched second-round exits stack up like parking tickets. A 41-year-old LeBron next to Embiid, Maxey, Brown and Edgecombe is the most stacked lineup this city has fielded in decades, and every single one of us is already worried about the injury report.

What we’ll cover: rotations and lineup fits, the Embiid availability watch that will define the entire season, trade deadline moves, and whether this actually ends a title drought that started in 1983. Bust Alerts and Hot Seats apply here too. Nobody gets a pass because of a jersey number.

Our Philosophy

We believe you can love a team completely and still refuse to lie to yourself about it.

Philadelphia fans get caricatured as irrational. The truth is closer to the opposite: this fanbase is demanding because it pays attention. We notice the missed blocks. We remember the contracts. We know exactly how many times a play has failed before, which is why we lose our minds when it gets called again.

What that looks like here:

• Honest over positive. A win doesn’t erase bad process, and a loss doesn’t mean everyone gets fired. Usually.
• Reasons over reactions. Anyone can scream. We’ll scream and explain the coverage bust.
• Accountability, including ours. Bad takes stay published. Bust Alerts that age poorly stay up.
• Passion is not a flaw. Detached, above-it-all sports writing is boring. We’re not doing that.
• The standard is the standard. This is a franchise that has won a Super Bowl. Anything less than contention is a problem, and we’ll treat it like one.
